We\u2019re all democrats, aren\u2019t we? And wherever democracy doesn\u2019t (yet) exist, it should be established as soon as possible \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>BEconomics tackles both sides of the equation: supply and demand, production and consumption.<\/p>\n<p>On the <strong>supply side<\/strong> (the democracy aspect): companies that belong to no one (\u201ccommons\u201d) and have social and ecological sustainability built into their DNA.<\/p>\n<p>On the <strong>demand side<\/strong>: people embracing a new lifestyle\u2014one that puts <em>being<\/em> before <em>having<\/em>. Material consumption matters less. BEconomics offers a rich sense of life: a <strong>New Lightness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Technology for the common good<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Back to the future? Not at all. BEconomics is not a nostalgic throwback to pre-modern times. It puts social progress center stage\u2014while also embracing technological progress. With one clear condition: technology should not merely boost production efficiency, but be put to work for the common good.<\/p>\n<p>Take note: what you\u2019ll find here is work in progress. My model and my thinking are constantly evolving.
