The Economics Coach

Business as Unusual!

The capitalist market economy has reached its end. The coming years will bring massive shifts in global power. And the climate crisis will hit us hard. In short: we need to reorganize ourselves — sooner rather than later.

But most of us still don’t really want to face it. Preferably “business as usual.” I, however, am convinced that we need a new system design: the BEconomics!

Who dares to make such a claim?

Allow me to introduce myself: I’m the Economics Coach — economic philosopher, satirist, and pop economist. Huh? Yes, you read that right. Because The Economics Coach (TEC) is, in part, a pop-cultural project: no annoying ideology, no dry theory — but alongside the flood of thoughts on this website, also songs and music videos, performed by my “band” The BEconomics and published on YouTube.

My civil name, by the way…

You can read this and more about me on the page “About me” [Link]. On “About you” [Link] I’ve gathered some (wild?) thoughts about who you might be.

All utopia — or what?

Perhaps, purely theoretically, the following questions come to mind: What place do community-based economic models have in a world of predatory capitalism? Why talk about a better world when we barely have the energy to keep the multiple crises somewhat under control?

The answer is radically simple: because major crises sooner or later make change absolutely necessary. And that is the opportunity for a new system design!

What I mean by my new economic system design, the BEconomics

I outline this in the article About the project. If you’re more of a listicle type, then you’ll find what you’re looking for in my 13 Big Points [Link].
